The next software is Risen3D, an improved version of the traditional game Doom with three-dimensional graphics and new effects that offer a superior experience. Risen3D has faster rendering through OpenGL graphics, full compatibility with MBF and Boom, and support for Skybox. The textures have a much higher resolution than in Doom, while the water is now translucent and more realistic. To run it, users must tell Risen3D where the game's WAD-type resource folder is located on their hard disk. The main strengths of Risen3D are its improved platform from an aesthetic point of view and several new elements, better effects, and more realistic movements to the already-known aspects of Doom. Its execution for novice users can be challenging as minimum knowledge is required to run this graphic engine on top of the original Doom. However, Risen3D is entirely recommendable for all those who enjoyed playing Doom or any similar title emerged from it.
