    Review Pioneers

Pioneers is an RPG-type game in which you can explore all sorts of worlds, as well as being based on a turn-based competition system, leading a group of adventurers in search of lost treasures. Of course, the road to wealth and fame is far from simple because you will encounter local tribes and other characters unwilling to allow you to advance.

Like many of the games in this segment, Pioneers stands out, mainly because we will have to gain experience and reputation as we advance until we become the best explorer in the world. Of course, when the title starts, we can see our main protagonist promising his father that he will become the best treasure hunter, and he doesn't plan to return home before achieving it.

Our mission in the game is to give this explorer a hand, although, as we said, nothing will be simple since we will see many obstacles in our way and we will meet many attractive characters. To leave them all behind, it will be essential to solving all the puzzles that appear on our map, and for that, you will have to take advantage of all the objects that nature puts at your disposal.

It is much easier to cross paths in summer, when we can find a lot of food available, than in winter, the time of the calendar when raw materials are somehow scarce, complicating things. At the same time, when temperatures drop, the wolves come out to hunt, and we risk feeding the beasts while looking for food for our travelers.

An important detail you must remember in this role-playing game is that although we will lead the group of explorers, all of them are important, considering that each one has a specific task or mission according to their abilities. Thus, there will be travelers who have a more remarkable ability to take advantage of food, others to build houses, and some will be the strongest warriors of your group.

Beyond the fact that later the paths of each player can differ in many aspects, the beginning of the game is the same: we are in a city where a party is being held in a tavern, where our characters begin to plan what are the elements necessary to undertake the adventure that awaits them. Thus, a series of initial missions will suddenly allow us to enter this world of exploration.

Of course, our power of decision about which missions we accept and which we prefer to leave unfinished is almost absolute, considering that some of them are abandoned missions because the explorers never returned home. Of course, these missions that could be regarded as the most complicated also grant the most significant benefits, so you can choose whether you want to risk it.

As it can't be otherwise, as the first tasks are left behind, other much more complicated ones will appear, for which you will need more knowledge, protection and attack items, and time. We often do not have any enemy to defeat, but food shortages or extreme colds can make us lose a good part of our troops, and we must avoid it as possible.

Regarding the graphics of Pioneers, we have to say that it is probably one of the weakest points of the title because it is clear that we can not expect the definition of a last-generation console if we want something more accomplished. Unfortunately, the fact that it is a two-dimensional interface and is also quite obsolete makes our imagination work much harder than our eyes.

As the main positive feature of Pioneers, we can point out then, in a general way, the proposal that the game makes us entertaining. That is to say, there are many missions and different characters, both friendly and unpleasant and even dangerous; the scenarios change all the time, and we can take advantage of almost any object in our journey. All this is very attractive.

However, as we said a couple of paragraphs above, we also find that the graphics of Pioneers are not at the height of what the game itself is, so that brings down the expectations of fun a little. If you check that the visuals of the title don't bother you through the screenshots attached to the review, then you can be sure that all the other aspects are fascinating.

Our summary would not stray too far from that because the truth is that Pioneer's proposal is entertaining and will get you to have a good time without demanding too much power from your computer. This, of course, if you can stand the fact that its design is a couple of steps below other similar free titles.
