Lphant is a P2P (peer-to-peer) file downloading and sharing software that stands out for its ease of use and a wide variety of search options. Although initially developed as an enhanced version of Emule, Lphant has evolved to also support page links as with Torrent. This allows it to work indistinctly and provide a greater amount of results in its searches.

To install Lphant it is necessary to follow some specific steps and configure some aspects beforehand. First of all, it is recommended to use version 3.51 of the software, which is the version we offer in Usitility, since it is the latest and best version available. In addition, it is necessary to map the ports on the router in order to use the program efficiently. This involves finding out the IP of our computer and choosing the ports we want to open on the router. Lphant usually creates default ports, but the router must be configured on the same ports.

Once the software is installed, it is important to note that it is necessary to configure the internet protocol (IPv4) in manual mode on the network card. This will allow us to force a specific IP. In addition, it is necessary to configure the gateway, which would be the router itself (192.168.1.1). For the program to work correctly on the external network, it is important to configure a preferred DNS server, which would be the manager address (192.168.1.1).

Once the network is configured, we can proceed to sharing folders and directories in Lphant. This allows us to search and share files with other users. To do this, we need to add the folders we wish to share and enable subdirectories. It is important to note that Lphant allows sharing of all types of files so that we can share documents and folders of images, videos, or any other type of file.

To search in Lphant, we can use the search function and type the term we want to search for. Once the search is done, we can see a list of results with the files available for download. In addition, we can monitor the uploads and downloads we perform and see the corresponding graphs in the "Control" tab.
