Review Arlean Maps

Are you looking for a good map application for your cell phone? Have you tried your luck with the Google and Apple alternatives, but they haven't convinced you? You have to know then that there are some other equally interesting ones. For example, we can mention the case of Arlean Maps, one of the not so well known map applications, which nevertheless has considerable potential to be exploited by users.

In the first instance, we must emphasize that Arlean Maps is a GPS navigation platform through completely free maps, which you can install on your Android in just seconds, to access its contents without having to register or anything like that. This is a massive advantage over other similar ones, considering that if you're in a hurry, you'll be able to view all its maps without too much delay.

As for the contents of Arlean Maps, in principle, we can say that we have a massive amount of roads and satellite images from different sources, thanks to which it is possible to observe many of the elements around us. It is also true that the loading of these maps is sometimes a bit slow, especially if we compare it with Google Maps or other more famous apps.

Outside of that, which we have to thank much to its developers, Arlean Maps will allow us to have a good amount of online maps and the ability to download them, store them on the device, and view them offline. That is, at certain times when you know you will not have Internet access later, you can download the maps to have them at your fingertips when you need them.

At the same time, Arlean Maps has seemed to us an exciting software for those who have the habit of going out to make routes both by car and with their bicycles, and even for pedestrians. The truth is that we have a system of optimized routes with real-time information, which will tell us the best routes that we can take to take less time, avoid accidents, etc.

The displacements within the maps of Arlean Maps are also very well done because, for example, if you want to see the route ahead of you, you must press and hold to show you the way. This happens with most of the map applications for Android; their movements are very similar to what we see in Google Maps, as is logical.

What we particularly liked about Arlean Maps is that while we are moving, we can see how the map constantly rotates in the direction of travel, so it is not necessary to move it manually. In particular, this is a function that we have found interesting, as it allows us to forget about the cell phone for a while.

Obviously, like any suitable application in this segment, Arlean Maps also has a Finder integrated, thanks to which we can try to find specific addresses, as well as look for stores, bars, gas stations, or any other specific site that is on the road we are doing, to make a stop before continuing our journey.

And to that, we must add articles with information from Wikipedia that appears automatically when we pass near a place with enough history to be mentioned in the famous virtual encyclopedia.

On the other hand, the user interface of Arlean Maps is not the best we have found so far when it comes to analyzing map applications, and it is observed at a glance that it does not have as much work behind it as it does in several of the competition. Indeed, it sometimes seems somewhat outdated, even more so in the contextual menus than in the navigation between the maps themselves.

If we had to mention then the main strengths of Arlean Maps, we would have to talk in the first instance about the tremendous amount of information it throws about the sites that are loaded in its database, incorporating, for example, articles from Wikipedia. We also liked that the maps can be downloaded for later viewing when we do not have an Internet connection.

The aspects of Arlean Maps that have least convinced us, on the other hand, have to do with the fact that in a direct comparison with Google Maps, for example, we noticed that it lacks many of its functions and even some map updates. There are not too many reasons to recommend a user install this application on their Android before the one developed by the people of Google.

In summary, Arlean Maps is a good map application, perhaps far from the best in the segment, but it delivers when it comes to informing us about the roads and places around us. We would probably recommend it, especially for those users who do not have a Google account associated with their terminal and who only want a basic map app to get out of trouble.
